Hey all! It's been a little over a six months since we shipped all the rewards, so we are closing this project down on 11/1. Anyone who hasn't filled out their survey by then will not be able to get their rewards, so please provide us with your address before then if you're one of that small number. You'll be able to access your ebooks in your Bookfunnel library forever if you ever need to download them or send them to a new device.

We launch Dangerous Tides tomorrow, so we wanted to take a moment to thank you for all the ways you helped us to grow by being there to support our first campaign and for giving us incredible ideas in your surveys!
The books for Dangerous Tides are the flippy-floppy format we're still endlessly delighted by, but this year they also include a foiled slipcase that holds all three volumes, full color stepback end pages, sprayed edges, an illustrated glossary with art of the characters, and three colors of foil on each side!
Based on the feedback you gave us in your surveys, this campaign will include book sleeves with the stepback art that also come in an e-reader size, candles, stickers, enamel pins, a map, two sets of vellum overlays, and a tiny fucking metal chalice because no one was there to stop us from commissioning it. If you back for any kind of physical reward (e-book tier plus an add-on counts!) in the first 72 hours, you'll also get a free piece of eight (the key to the mythical island of Atlantis where all of the stories cross paths)!
All of the books will come with a digital signature and Kickstarter exclusive note from the author, but this time there will only be 526 numbered/lettered editions that have been pen/stamp signed by every author on a special signature page that will be bound into the front of the first volume. They will be assigned by backing order, so if you're the first person to snag this tier, you'll get copy A, then it'll go through the alphabet and numbers 1-500. If you back the same tier next year, you'll be able to claim the same number or letter you got this year if you want it.
We wish there was a way for us to give you early access, but the best we can do is to give you the tip that if you're trying to get one of the 526 limited editions, it might be wise to grab the tier and skip over the add-ons initially because you can go back and add them as soon as you hit the confirmation page--just make sure you don't modify your tier or you might lose your limited edition set. Once you've got your tier locked in, you can take your time deciding what add-ons you'd like!
In addition to the rewards themselves, your feedback has also helped us to improve the overall backer experience. Here are some of the changes we've made:
-Our surveys will integrate directly with Kickstarter, so there won't be any Apple Privacy Relay issues because the emails will come through Kickstarter, so Apple won't block them.
-We worked with the founder of Bookfunnel to develop a seamless process for the ebook delivery. As soon as your survey is completed, your confirmation will include 6 one-time-use codes to add each book to your Bookfunnel library (which will let you send them to any e-reader). You'll enter the email address you want to use, eliminating the possibility of typos or of us sending them to your Kickstarter email when that isn't what you want to use for Bookfunnel.
-We're partnering with a fulfillment center to pack and ship most of the rewards (Katee and Tim will personally handle the 526 limited editions), which means all of the orders will be shipped the same week and there won't be weeks of wondering when it'll be your turn.
-You'll get the ebooks even earlier than their retail release. They'll be sent to backers at the end of May and won't be available on Amazon until late October.
-The Kickstarter covers won't be available on any retail sites in any print version even if it's less fancy. If print versions of the individual books are offered outside of Kickstarter, they'll have entirely different covers and none of the special features. Bonkers may sell any leftover stock from this campaign, but the books won't be on any regular bookseller sites and there's no guarantee there will be extras.
-Instead of stretch goals, we're going to take backers on a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure with our backer updates to allow you to get to know Atlantis. There may be surprises dropped along the way and you may or may not get to visit both the brothel and the erotic theatre. Just try not to get yourselves locked in the stocks... Backers will be able to vote on each update to decide where to go next!

The last 81 boxes went out in the mail today! If you haven't received a shipping email, please check your spam folder. If it's not there, you can reach out to us here on Kickstarter via messages and we can get you your tracking information.
There are still a handful of people who haven't filled out their survey. We cannot send you your rewards until you do! We have individually emailed/messaged everyone who has not filled out their survey, so please complete those ASAP.

So...what's next???
Of course, we're nearly ready to launch Season 2, which is titled Dangerous Tides! It's got fantasy pirates and space pirates and all the books visit Atlantis, our magical port city. We've really gone HARD on these editions, so both paperback and hardcover will have full-color stepbacks, THREE foil colors on the covers, and sprayed edges. The swag includes gorgeous book sleeves, e-reader sleeves, pins, stickers, vellum, and more! We're also offering a limited tier of signed and lettered editions (526 total!) so if you want that, be sure to show up day one! You can follow the project here.

March Shipping Update

Hey all!
We're well on our way through shipping, so just wanted to do a quick update since we've had some inquires. We're a small team, and we've shipped approximately 1000 packages in the last three weeks. We're wrapping up the last 600 in the next two weeks, well ahead of our initial project goal to ship by the end of April.
We will post an update once all packages are shipped! If you haven't gotten a shipping email at that time, and have filled out your survey, we're happy to message your tracking number.
